Character Description on an old man.

Everything had changed. No family, no friends and no love. The thought had made him shiver, while opening the abandoned door.

Mr Gum hadn’t seen this place for a long time after the… No he shouldn’t remember the past, it was too harsh on him.

Where should he go first ?

To his room. He walked through the dusty corridor and walked over the broken pieces of shattered glass. He searched for it, but it wasn’t there. Why did everything have to leave him?

Looking at the ripped photo, a tear silently rolled down Mr Gum’s cheek. He used to be strong and active. Now he was fragile and the total opposite of his past life.

He ran his hand over the rough, wood cabinet’s surface, which was once smooth, causing splinters to stick out from his wide palm, like trees on an island. Mr Gum stared into the cracked mirror, engrossed in his past. He failed to notice someone slip through the slightly opened door.

As he gazed into the mirror, he noticed a cloaked person behind him.

“Hello Frank,” she said monotonously.

Mr Gum whirled around, only to see the plain face, with no feelings, of his long-lost sister.

“Lila?” was all Frank could manage to stutter and then everything went black.

Mr Gum gasped. Black waves danced around Frank, twisting and turning in all directions, hypnotising him. Voices whispered into his ears and shadows surrounded him. All he could recall was his sister’s straight face, before everything went dark.

A hand strongly clutched his right shoulder.

“We need to leave, immediately Frank. No delay.”
